DPR 111 Advanced Microsoft Office 2000

  COURSE COMPETENCIES:

 This is a hands-on course. This course is specifically developed as an advanced personal computer applications course. Prior experience with a computer is required. Upon successful completion of this course, the student should be able to:

·        Demonstrate an advanced knowledge/skill with Microsoft Windows 98

·        Demonstrate advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office 2000

·        Apply advanced word processing skills to solve Personal Computer application-type problems using Microsoft Word 2000

·        Apply advanced skills to solve Personal Computer application-type problems using Microsoft Excel 2000

·        Apply advanced database skills to solve Personal Computer application-type problems using Microsoft Access 2000

·        Additional competencies are outlined in the College's 1999-2001 catalog on page 71. 

COURSE POLICY:

Classes will consist of lab demonstrations, and on-hand class chapters. 

 Students will be expected to be prepared prior to class and actively participate.

    Students will be expected to do all computer-related assignments in the computer lab on the 4th floor room 4260(unless prior authorization is obtained from the instructor).

·        All and exams will be given in class at scheduled times. There will be no make-up tests, quizzes or Exams. Extra credit assignments can be substituted for missed Tests or Quizzes with instructor’s approval.

 ATTENDANCE AND TARDINESS POLICY:  ATTENDANCE IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED. It is very difficult to grasp computer ideas and skills by just reading the text. If attendance is impossible, notify instructor via E-mail and obtain class notes and instructions.
